Eastcore Walking Tours
May 1-10 | Tulip Time 2026
Step into Eastcore through guided walking tours that bring together history, art, and community. Whether you’re interested in untold local stories or vibrant public murals, each tour offers a deeper look at the people and places that continue to shape this neighborhood.
Tours are offered during Tulip Time and led by local guides with deep roots in the community.
Eastcore History Tour
90 minutes | $25 | Meet at the Van Raalte Statue (Centennial Park)
Step into the untold stories of one of Holland’s oldest neighborhoods. This guided tour traces Eastcore’s story from Native American trailways and early Dutch settlement to the challenges, tensions, and transformations that shaped the community over time.
Along the way, you’ll hear stories of resilience and change, from early hardships and the founding of local institutions to the impact of industry, immigration, and housing patterns that shaped who could call Eastcore home.
Led by longtime resident Lori Appeldoorn, this tour highlights the moments and stories that don’t often make it into history books, but define the neighborhood’s past and present.
Eastcore Murals Tour
60 minutes | $25 | Meet at the 3Sixty Hub
Explore Eastcore’s vibrant public art on this guided mural tour. Since 2022, local neighbors have led the Tulip City Walls Mural Festival, transforming the neighborhood through large-scale murals and creative expression.
This tour highlights the artists behind the work, the meaning behind each piece, and the stories of how these murals came to life. From bold installations to hidden gems, you’ll see how art is shaping Eastcore’s identity today.
