When Rhys was approached with the opportunity to be a board member for 3sixty, her first thought was “Wow, I’ll be such a grown up…” Clearly it has not dawned on her that being almost 30, owning a home and having two kids qualifies one as a grown up. She is also pleased that the board decided to grant her a special waiver to the board’s beard requirement, as one beard in a household is enough.
Rhys is a MI transplant from the far off shores of Boston, MA. While she has started to set down roots here in MI and has fully taken on a Midwestern accent, part of her heart will always reside in Beantown. She graduated with a degree in political science and promptly realized that she didn’t want to become a lawyer or a politician. She decided non- profits were the way to go and did a stint through AmeriCorps with Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity. This is where she met her best friend and soon to be (5 years later) better half, Jon.
Currently, Rhys is working in the exciting world of insurance. She is also an aspiring librarian and hopes that someday in the near future, she will have the run of a community library and be able to bike to work. Not surprisingly in her spare time she enjoys reading in the sun on her front porch.
